Keep the Children Fit with the Nintendo Wii Fit
December 3rd, 2008I think it was last summer when I first realized that my 3 children were getting more and more inactive. Aged 11. 13 and 14 they were up until then always out and about with their friends – Sometimes out for hours at a time doing god knows what! Lol but atleast they were active.
Then as a treat we brought them a games console! Suddenly afternoons of chase with their friends was deemed boring and a day in front of the TV chasing Mario was much more exciting!
It wasn’t a worry at first, lets me fair all kids have their fads and usually get bored quite easily so my husband and I figured it would not be long until the consule was in the cupboard along with the pokemon cards and the marbles from previous fazes!
However it seemed this was not the case, and increasingly they were spending more and more time in the living room playing games and doing no exercise. My husband and I became concerned so I looked online to see what the solution was. I came across the Nintendo Wii Fit. Ok, I meant spending out on a new Wii, but to be fair it would mean we would be the world’s best parents!!! It basically is an exercise game – You can play bowling, yogo – all sorts!
We brought it, the kids loved it! Now the old games console is defunct, the kids spend hours on the computer but to by delight and exercising every day using it! And to be honest, I have to admit even me and my husband have had the odd game of Mario Karts.
